Open or closed: we’re open! :)

This morning’s kick-off meeting we agreed on following the OPEN strategy:

– We’ll open everything, except for the last minute.
– But we do not publish the script at all.

This is easier than trying to check each time if we spoil secrets… or being forced to categorize posts. This strategy allows us to discuss a lot of issues openly for our followers, but still keep the ending hidden – AND let everyone guess the story :)

    Yep! :)

Looking forward to seeing how the next few months unfold. Rock on guys! :D

  2. Gianmichele says:

This is going to be so awesome :)

  3. J. says:

As long as you release the script after the film’s been released, I’m fine with it!

  4. Manuel says:

When will you start casting actors? I’d love to see that open too :D

  5. Francisco Ortiz says:

It will be open, but closed. It’s openly closed! :I

  6. Phil2.0 says:

Full CG characters would have been far more interesting.

  7. Tycho says:

So it would be an open production closed story until release but would it be possible to get some extract from the story board for one scene wich is impressive for instance and then the wip for the scene to see how the guy starts from storyboard/concept art to achieve final scene cause in kickoff we see the script from tom but no the corresponding david revoy storyboard. Just a few quick drawn scketches to fill the holes in day one.
I hope i can contain my impatience if not and if the script suddently disapears from bf, well I would be gulty …

    • Tycho says:

Well no some robot from kickoff are keeping watch, it’s too dangerous to steel it :)

  8. Gill says:

    Nice, it’s a good compromise!

By the way, how went the meeting with Brecht to discuss the way cycles will improve for real usage in the movie?

  9. blendercomp says:

    Wise decision.
Open is the way to go!

  10. Tobias says:

Will the svn with all models be open as well? That would be awesome, but might drain your bandwidth. :-)

  11. Ben says:

Looking forward to it. Keep up the good work.

  12. Peter says:

Update your “timeline” guys, it’s stucked on January …

  13. Matt says:

Good choice, I look forward to see the inner workings of mango; it will be interesting to see how you guys manage to pull this off :P

  14. Blendiac says:

To me this is the perfect compromise. I get to learn from all the production issues and challenges, and *still* try and figure out how it’s all going to end! :D

  15. Hubberthus says:

Thanks guys, that’s the best choice! :)

When will the sprints be? :P

  16. Anders says:

    Horray! So happy about that.

  17. Jonny says:

I agree with you. Good choice. I enjoy the manifold of posts.

  18. Dusty says:

    fair enough. :)

  19. jose.j says:
